Removal of Name from SMC’s Register(s)

Pursuant to Section 31(f) of the Medical Registration Act 1997, the Registrar shall remove from SMC’s register(s) the name of any doctor who has not renewed his / her Practising Certificate (PC) for a continuous period of not less than 2 years, and who cannot be contacted or sent any document using his / her particulars in the register(s). 

Pursuant to Section 31(g) of the Medical Registration Act 1997, any medical practitioner on SMC’s register(s) who has requested and shown sufficient reason(s) for his / her name to be removed from the register(s) will be allowed to do so, provided that no inquiry or proceedings have commenced against him / her.

Where the name of a doctor has been removed from the register(s), he / she may apply for restoration if he / she wishes to practise medicine in Singapore again.
