Announcements

The Optometrists and Opticians Board (the “Board”) will be conducting a Supervisory Framework Briefing for practitioners who are currently holding a supervisory role, to better understand the requirements of the Board’s Supervisory Framework.  Selected practitioners on provisional registration are also invited to attend the briefing. 

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the briefing will be conducted fully online via Zoom.

There will be two separate sessions – details are as follows: 

Briefing 1 – Supervisors for Provisional Optometrist
Date 23 September 2020 (Wednesday)
Time 9 am to 11 am
(Registration will start at 8.30 am)
Venue Zoom
CPE points 2 CPE points will be awarded for attending the briefing

Briefing 2– Supervisors for Provisional Optician
Date 24 September 2020 (Thursday) 
Time 9 am to 11 am
(Registration will start at 8.30 am)
Venue Zoom
CPE points 2 CPE points will be awarded for attending the briefing
 

The briefing is compulsory for all supervisors and attendees are eligible to claim up to 2 CPE points.  Supervisors who have not attended any of the previous sessions are advised to attend the upcoming briefing.

Due to limited capacity, places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Registration for the briefing(s) should reach the Board latest by 11 September 2020 (Friday).  Confirmation and admin details will be sent via email one week before the briefing.

The briefing will include a breakout session on case study discussion in which you will be assigned into smaller discussion groups and be provided with the respective case study as assignment.  For a more effective and fruitful discussion, we encourage that you complete the assignment beforehand and submit the online form latest by 21September 2020 (Monday).
