Announcements

The Optometrists and Opticians Board (the “Board”) has rescheduled the Supervisory Framework Briefing (2021) to this year. The briefing is for practitioners who are currently holding a supervisory role, to better understand the requirements of the Board’s Supervisory Framework.  Selected supervisees are also invited to attend the briefing. 

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the briefing will be conducted fully online via Zoom.

There will be two separate sessions – details are as follows:
 Briefing 1 – Supervisors for Provisional Optometrist
 Date 29 March 2022 (Tuesday) 
 Time  9 am to 12 pm
(Registration will start at 8.30 am)
 Venue  Zoom
 CPE points  Up to 3 CPE points will be awarded for attending the briefing
 Briefing 2 – Supervisors for Provisional Optician
 Date  30 March 2022 (Wednesday)
 Time  9 am to 12 pm
(Registration will start at 8.30 am)
 Venue  Zoom
 CPE points  Up to 3 CPE points will be awarded for attending the briefing

The briefing is compulsory for all supervisors and attendees are eligible to claim up to 3 CPE points for attending the briefing.  Supervisors who have missed previous sessions are strongly advised to attend the upcoming briefing.

Registration for the briefing(s) should reach the Board by 28 February 2022 (Monday).  Confirmation and admin details will be sent via email at least one week before the briefing.

The briefing will include a case study discussion in which attendees will be provided with cases from past logbook submissions for assignment upon confirmation of attendance. For a more effective and fruitful discussion, please submit the completed assignment in the online form by 18 March 2022 (Friday).

For those who had already secured a place for this briefing in last year, please note that you are automatically enrolled for the corresponding session and that you are not required to re-register. You may wish to also refer to the relevant email that was sent to you earlier.
