Announcements

With the heightened awareness about the COVID-19 situation, practitioners are advised to step up on personal hygiene and disinfection routines at your practice (refer to Annex 1 for Articles extracted from OOB’s Professional Practice Guidelines).

Good Personal Hygiene
• Maintain good personal hygiene to protect yourself and your patients e.g. wash hands regularly before and after each patient.
• Observe personal health conditions, seek medical care and medical leave early if you are unwell.

Equipment & Infection Control
• Ensure that any equipment that come into contact with patients should be clean and disinfected in between patients. For example, trial frame and trial lenses, spectacle frames, slit lamp contact points etc.
• Practitioners should also step up on infection control measures in the shop, eg, more frequently cleaning table tops, chairs, door knobs/ handles, mirror etc.

Stay Vigilant
• Practitioners should remain up-to-date with MOH advisories relating to the situation.
• If you observe any patient or colleague who appears to be unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms, you may advise that they seek medical care early.
