Apply to be a Registered Allied Health Professional

Registration of allied health professionals (AHPs) in Singapore is governed by the Allied Health Professions Act 2011.  AHPs who are regulated at this time are the Diagnostic Radiographers, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Radiation Therapists and Speech-Language Therapists.

The registration of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech-Language Therapists commenced on 15 April 2013 while the registration of Diagnostic Radiographers and Radiation Therapists started on 15 April 2016.

When registration commenced for the respective AHP groups, there was a one-year grace period from the commencement date of registration for practitioners who were already practising the profession in Singapore before the commencement of registration to be registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC).

All new entrants who are seeking jobs in Singapore or who do not have any prior practice experience in Singapore and those who are returning to practise the profession, are required to be registered with the AHPC and have in force a valid practising certificate prior to being able to start work in their respective allied health professions.
