Training to be a professional

For someone who is considering of becoming a dental professional and is looking into the possible courses, information from the following links may be useful:

TRAINING TO BECOME A DENTIST

Dental education in Singapore - Currently, the National University of Singapore (NUS) is the only institution offering a full-time dental degree course. Interested applicants will have to meet the entry requirements laid down by the Faculty of Dentistry, NUS. For local dental graduates, they can apply to be registered under Full Registration.

Dental education overseas  - Individuals may also pursue dental courses conducted by overseas institutions. Council will grant registration to those who hold a degree in dentistry listed in the List of Registrable Degrees [PDF, 207KB].

TRAINING TO BECOME AN ORAL HEALTH THERAPISTS

·         Dental education in Singapore - Currently, the Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) is offering a 3 years full-time Diploma in Oral Health Therapy Course. For more information on the course, please refer to http://www.nyp.edu.sg.

· Dental education overseas - Individuals may also pursue dental courses conducted by overseas institutions. Council will grant registration to those who hold a qualification obtained from SDC-recognised qualifications [PDF, 107KB].
