Renewal of Practising Certificate

1. New Practising Certificate Application

A Practising Certificate (PC) Application has to be submitted with every new registration application, together with a payment of S$500 for 2 years or part thereof, depending on the date of application. The PC has a fixed 2-year cycle validity period (1 Jan 2019 to 31 Dec 2020; 1 Jan 2021 to 31 Dec 2022; 1 Jan 2023 to 31 Dec 2024; 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2028; and so on).

2. Late Renewal of PC

Pharmacists with PCs that are expired for less than 5 years may apply for late renewal with a late application fee of S$200 in addition to the PC renewal fees. Pharmacists who do not renew their PCs for a continuous period of 5 years and more will have their names removed from the Register of Pharmacists and are required to apply for Restoration if they wish to apply for PC.

3. PC Renewal for 2023/2024

Renewal of PC notice will be sent to all eligible pharmacists during September 2022 for renewal of 2-year PC from 1 January 2023 till 31 December 2024. A payment of S$500 will apply. 

Pharmacists who do not meet their CPE requirements will not be eligible for PC renewal.

Kindly note that a late application fee of S$100 will apply for pharmacists who have not renewed their PC or do not ensure that their payments are cleared on time by 30 November. After 31 December, late application fee of S$200 will apply.

4. Implications of Practising Pharmacy without Valid PC

Please note that under section 28 of the Pharmacists Registration Act, a registered pharmacist who practices pharmacy or holds the title of "Pharmacist" without a valid practising certificate shall be guilty of an offence and be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $25,000.
