Re-registration/ Re-enrolment

1. Nurses/Midwives who have ever registered with SNB will need to apply for re-registration/re-enrolment before they can commence practise in Singapore when :

a) they have not been practising nursing/midwifery in Singapore for a period of more than 5 years; or

b) they have not renewed their Practising Certificates for a continuous period of more than 5 years;

  • If you are a locally trained nurse (applicable for Singapore Citizen and Permanent Reisdent only), you must attend and complete a Return-to-Nursing Programme. However, you will be required to apply for temporary registration before you can commence the Return-to-Nursing Programme.
  • If you are an internationally qualified nurse/midwife (applicable for Singapore Citizen and Permanent Resident only), you must have an offer of employment, before you can be considered for Return-to-Nursing Programme. You will be required to apply for temporary registration before you can commence the Return-to-Nursing Programme.

Application for Re-registration/Re-enrolment

Before submission of your application of Re-registration / Re-enrolment online, ensure that all your particulars are up-to-date. You may wish to refer here for more information on updating your particulars. 

Employment details should be updated under the "Proposed Employment" and "Principal Practice Place" sections. Do note that you are not allowed to indicate the date joined before there is an outcome for your Re-registration / Re-enrolment application.

For your information, processing time for Update Particulars application will take around 5 working days. Only upon the approval of your Update Particulars application, you can then submit an application for Re-registration / Re-enrolment.

Steps for submitting Re-registration / Re-enrolment application online

1. Access SNB’s website at and login using your SingPass. For login information, please refer here. For those who do not have a SingPass, please email us at

2. Upon successful login, select “Application” from left hand menu and click on “Restoration”.

3. An Application for Restoration will be launched. Complete all required information.

4. Certified true copy of the following documents will be required to support the application:

  • NRIC/Passport
  • SNB Certificate of Registration/Enrolment
  • Current nursing licence (if applicable)
  • Testimonials/References from previous employer(s)
  • Certificate certifying the completion of a Return-to-Nursing Programme (if applicable)

5. If you have practiced nursing/midwifery in another country, you must submit certified true copy of registration certificate and practising certificate in that country. You must also request for verification of your overseas registration to be sent directly to SNB.

i) Documents that are not in English must be accompanied by an accurate translation in English and certified by Justice of Peace, Notary Public from their country of origin.

ii) Documents certified as "true copies"

♦ Must be initialled on every page of the document by the authorized officer (Justice of Peace, Notary Public or your employer, unless otherwise stated.

♦ Must include the name of authorized officer (full name), signature, date of certification and institution’s stamp/seal

iii) Photocopies of previously certified documents will not be accepted.

iv) Copies which are not acceptable to SNB will result in the delay of your application.

6. The SNB Fee for Application for Re-registration/Re-enrolment/Re-certification Fee is payable and non-refundable.

7. Payment must be made online by:

i) eNETS Credit/Debit Card

  • Acceptable Credit Cards (VISA and MasterCard ONLY) (Note:  American Express (Amex), Diners Club and JCB Credit Cards are NOT accepted.)
  • Acceptable Debit Cards (Visa Electron Debit Cards and MasterCard ONLY)

ii) eNETS Internet Banking

  • Participating Banks (DBS, POSB, UOB, OCBC, Citibank ONLY)

Note: SNB will not process your application until payment and all required supporting documents have been received. Failure to do so will delay your application.

8. After you have successfully submitted your application online, SNB will process your application. We will contact if there are outstanding documents.

9. An appointment will be made for you to complete a “Statutory Declaration for Re-registration, Re-enrolment or Re-certification Under Section 23” Form at our SNB Operating Office.

10. At the same time, you will be given two “Certificates of Identity and Good Character” forms, each to be signed by a different person who must not be your family/relatives. These persons signing the Certificates should have known you since the time you were registered with SNB.                               

11. When these two forms are completed, you must make an appointment with SNB by emailing us at quoting your application number, full name and contact details.

12. Your application will be approved once all requirements are met.
