Scope of professional nursing practice refers to the range of roles, functions, responsibilities and activities that a Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Midwife and Advanced Practice Nurse is educated, competent and authorised to perform. It is essential that nurses/midwives are aware of the regulatory and professional context of practice and exercise self-regulation for their own practice and competence.
