The Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) is the regulatory authority for nurses and midwives in Singapore. We aim to protect the public through licensure and regulation of nursing/midwifery education and practice.
Renewal of Practising Certificate(s) for Year 2016
It is an offence to practise nursing/midwifery without a valid practising certificate.
Nurses and Midwives Act (Chapter 209) [Section 26 (1)]
Nurses/Midwives who have not practised nursing for a continuous period of 5 years are required to attend a Return-to-Nursing programme before they can practise nursing again. This applies to those nurses/midwives who are holding valid practising certificates and have not practised nursing/midwifery for the past 5 years.
The Singapore Nursing Board issues Practising Certificates (PCs) for nurses/midwives on its Register and Roll. It is the responsibility of individual nurse/midwife to apply and pay for the yearly renewal of the practising certificate no later than 1 month before the expiry date on 31 December 2015.
