1.       The Singapore Medical Council (SMC) will make adjustments to the fees it levies with effect from 1 April 2012.

2.       SMC’s income is dependent on the fees collected from doctors.  The fees have not been revised for the past 6 years and in recent years we have been under-recovering.  As a result, SMC has been operating in deficit.  To enable us to continue operating optimally, SMC is streamlining its processes but we also need to make some changes to the fees SMC levies.

3.       The new fees will be applicable from 1 April 2012. Among the changes, the PC fees for Fully registered and Conditionally registered doctors will be revised from $300 to $400 per year or part thereof.

4.       Information on the Schedule of fees for all applications and services is available here.

5.       Payment for PCs or other applications should be made using GIRO or cheques.  Internet payment for fees has been disabled until further notice.

6.       We have held back revising the fees for as long as possible.  As such, we seek your understanding that this fee revision is necessary.

For clarifications on the fee revision, please contact SMC Secretariat at enquiries@smc.gov.sg.
