Pro-ration Of CPE Points
CPE points would be pro-rated for dental professionals under the following circumstances:
i. dental professionals who are away during the qualifying period (QP) for 180 days or more. Council reserves the right in approving the away period(s) before granting the dental professionals pro-rated CPE points. Supporting documents must be submitted to Council for approval.
ii. dental professionals under DNAL or De-registered status who wish to resume dental practice will have to fulfill the requisites stated in 6.1.2 and their CPE points will be pro-rated from the time when they join the QP.
iii. newly registered dental professionals who joined at any point of time during the QP.
Exception: Dental professionals on Maternity Leave will not be granted pro-rated CPE points.

Documents to be submitted
To apply for pro-ration of CPE points, the dental professionals must submit the following documents to SDC at least 1 month ahead of their leave or at least 4 months before the expiry date of their practising certificate:
i. If you are working overseas, please provide letter of appointment, employment and/or contract from relevant authority;
ii. If you are studying aboard, please provide admission/ acceptance letter from the relevant body/institution;
iii. If you are away for personal reasons, please provide photocopies of your passport with the departure and arrival dates stamped or airline tickets;
iv. If you are on long medical leave, please provide photocopies of your valid medical certificate.
This is to ensure that the verified period of their absence can be entered into the SDC Online CPE System for pro-rated points to be calculated before his practising certificate expires.
