Applicants from the regulated allied health professions (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech-Language Therapy) whose qualifications are not found on the List of Recognised Qualifications can take and pass the relevant Qualifying Examination (QE) to be eligible for Conditional Registration.

The QE is an assessment of the professional knowledge and skills expected of practitioners in Singapore.
| Eligibility Criteria for the Qualifying Examinations |

To be eligible for the QE, the applicant must meet the following criteria:
a) Possess a degree qualification in the relevant discipline of Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
i) The entry requirement for the professional course must be A Levels or equivalent.
b) Have an employment offer to practice in Singapore.
Candidates will only be allowed a maximum of two attempts to pass the QE.

| Application for the Qualifying Examination |

a) Allied Health Professionals currently practising in Singapore
For Allied Health Professionals who are on Restricted Registration and are keen to take the QE,
- They should apply directly to the relevant examination provider in Singapore for the QE which they intend to sit for.
- The completed QE application form together with the relevant fees must be submitted directly to the examination provider by the closing date for the relevant QE.
- Contact information and the postal address for the examination provider can be found below.
- The examination provider will inform them on the venue, date, time and other instructions on the QE.
b) For Allied Health Professionals with no prior practice experience in Singapore
For this group of Allied Health Professionals who are keen to sit for the QE,
- They must first apply for registration with the Council.
- Upon initial review, they will be informed of their eligibility to sit for the QE.
- With the confirmation letter from the Council, they must then apply directly to the relevant examination provider in Singapore for the QE which they intend to sit for.
- The completed QE application form together with the relevant fees must be submitted directly to the examination provider by the closing date for the relevant QE.

- The examination provider will inform them on the venue, date, time and other instructions on the QE.
- Upon receipt of the QE results, they must inform the Council and submit a copy of their results.
- The Council will then continue with the review of their applications for registration.
| Note: For all such applications, the Council will hold the registration application up to a period of 1 year from the date of application to enable the applicant to fulfil the QE requirement. After this deadline, the applicant will need to submit a fresh application for registration and make the necessary payment. |

Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
The cost per candidate is SGD400 (including GST) for each sitting*.
The application form together with the payment and a copy of the confirmation letter from the Council to sit for the QE must be submitted by the candidate to Nanyang Polytechnic before the closing date of the examination.
The payment may be in the form of Singapore issued cheques or bank drafts in Singapore currency. Payment for the QE is to be made payable to "Nanyang Polytechnic" and be sent to:

* Please note that the application will not be processed until all fees are paid in full. There shall be no refund in the event of non-attendance.
| Examination Instructions to Candidates |

Candidates sitting for the examination must be present at the stated venue at the stipulated time.
Candidates will not be admitted into the examination venue 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination. Candidates must bring along their passport or work pass, and copy of the reply from the examination provider as proof of identity.

Candidates will be informed of their QE results 4 weeks after the QE. Candidates who fail the QE will be allowed to sit for a second (final) attempt.
The examination results are final, and no appeals on examination results will be entertained.
Please note that successful completion of the QE does not guarantee a positive outcome of the registration application with the Council. Any false declaration/documentation submitted by the applicant to the Council may render the QE results void and invalid.
