Announcement

In recent months, the AHPC received several queries to clarify whether the Academic or General Training module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) was required to satisfy ELP requirements for registration. After carefully reviewing the IELTS and considering the requirements of other professional bodies, the AHPC has decided that the IELTS (Academic module) is more appropriate and relevant.

Therefore, as of 1 January 2015, the AHPC will only be accepting the IELTS (Academic Module) as part of their ELP requirements for registration. The requirements for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and the Occupational English Test (OET) remain unchanged.

The AHPC recognises that there may be registration applicants and conditionally registered therapists who already have applied for or taken the General Training module prior to this clarification. As such, the AHPC will continue to accept the IELTS (General Training) until the end of 2014.
